Shopping For Collectible Treasures

Looking For Rare Collectibles?

Looking for unique and rare collectibles? Do you enjoy plundering through all the wares of a flee market to find a special treasure? It happens all the time. So many rare treasures are found at flee markets and many have been found at The McRae Marketplace. Many have been valuable treasures indeed!
Unique Porcelain Collectibles
Recently a fine porcelain collectible vase was found while looking around the vast selection of merchandise. This vase is a beautiful, exquisite porcelain collectible in excellent condition.

Located among many other vases, glassware, dishes, kitchen accessories and household items, a perfect Kaiser vase was found. Some research of Kaiser revealed that this vase was made in West Germany. The production of porcelain vases, as well as other pieces, began with August Alboth who was an embellisher of fine porcelain that started a business of his own in 1872 in Bavaria, Germany. He wanted his business to be known for porcelain products of the highest quality. Each piece was molded and crafted by hand as no machine could ever match the quality and appearance of his skilled artisans. His porcelain gifts and accessories were designed creations fit for connoisseurs. His work has flourished for over 135 years.
On the porcelain vase, the surface was molded with a garden of flowing vines and leaves with raised poppy designs of intricate details. The exterior is in a soft, white bisque and the interior in a glossy white glaze.
It has a square design which is also a rarity of the design.
The base, as shown in this photo, has an impressed crown with AK beneath it with Kaiser W Germany in blue ink. The numbers 548/24 is also impressed in the right corner of the base.
This unique vase measures 9 1/2" high and width is 2 1/2" at base. The vase has a square design with rounded corners and curved top which measures 4" across. It is in excellent condition and is a rare and valuable find.

Southern Gifts, Collectibles and Decorations

Unique Business Adds More To The Adventure

The McRae Marketplace is the home for a unique antique mall and flea market. Many vendors in the area have come together to offer wares as varied as you can imagine. From old tools to new handbags, there are items for everyone. You'll simply have to visit to see for yourself!
Last month remodeling was taking place in order to expand the marketplace for more vendors and more merchandise. To have more vendors means to have more treasures with lots more adventure while shopping at this unique business.
Thick sheets of plastic protected the merchandise while walls came down and the area was cleaned and organized. The newly renovated area has created space for ten new booths. It took several weeks for the work to be completed, but it was finished in early January 2010. New vendors have already moved in and are ready to present their merchandise. They are eager to offer shoppers a selection of unique southern gifts, collectibles and decorations, which is bound to be a splendid shopping adventure for all!
If you have an interest in becoming a vendor, contact Britt Rich at 229-868-2910 for more information.
